I perfectly agree, RSS has always worked, and is federated, in a better way than even activitypub, as pretty much each podcast is on the servers of the owners, and that the clients do the aggregation.

what about waydroid? I’m thinking of installing chimera linux with phosh as a de, and for the apps I was thinking mostly linux programs and maybe some android apps with waydroid, but I’ll also try this!

I have a fp4 and it is VERY annoying to not have jack(I don’t wanna use bluetooth because jack works, doesn’t need a battery and is low tech), so now I only listen to music on my computer, but I’m planning on making an mp3 player with a raspberry pi pico.

yeah, that’s doable, I would do it like this: DIDs could just be cryptographic signing keys, and your client could just sign all your posts, and send it to any server, which will federate that. same with the upvotes/downvotes(timestamps will have to be signed so a server could not just replay an upvote or downvote if you change your mind) in this case, servers will only be useful for naming(and keeping the bio and public signing key) and relaying the messages to other servers. what’s described is pretty much that.

I use helix, and it does have bold and italic! what I really like about helix is how you can have multiple cursors at once.

I’m gonna try to install chimera linux on my fairphone. then I could use phosh as a window manager and use waydroid so I could have android apps! time to see how crazy that is.

Update: I did a bit of research, and chimera does support aarch64(the architecture of the fairphone 4) and it seems pretty doable, the postmarketos wiki says most features are supported, so we’ll see!
