These things don’t come with switches. You don’t just flip it on and off. It’s more like a snowball rolling down a hill. It starts small, but if it keeps up momentum, it ends up burying a small town.

Crutches are useful tools. Do you advocate that someone who’s broken/sprained limbs to just suck it up and walk it off? That’s needlessly toxic.

Religion is not a solution, and I never said otherwise. I said it was a tool, nothing more or less. It’s effectiveness as a tool is questionable, I agree.

And of course, instead of solving underlying issues, we should just blame and ban surface level problems so that nothing ever changes.

Religion is just a tool, not a cause. The cause of all the problems you quote are ego and power-mongering. Those things twist anything they touch, not just religion.

The solution is not more vapid reactionism.

That’s been the rhetoric for as long as I’ve been alive. “Maybe if we wait for the next generation…”

Maybe if people fucking showed up at all, we’d have this fucking licked. Turnout has been historically high the last few elections… and it’s still atrocious.

This isn’t on the people who show up, it’s on the people who don’t. I don’t care how much you don’t like the options available, deciding to abstain in this is saying you want someone else to think for you cause you don’t feel like it.

Their entire point is about immigration.

Sounds less like immigration hurts and more that lack of proper support networks and lack of regulation of capitalism is causing problems.

What’s the point of having a “free market” if you only want it free in the one way you prefer, and refuse to allow any other?
