Dad kept the scifi magazines with Azimovs original short stories. Azimov was a very prolific writer. Dad also had many Tales from Gore. The book shelves literally slumped from the weight. I didn’t fully appreciate the monumental amount of concentrated history I was engulfed in…in my own house. An entire wall of books, magazines, journals(medical, philosophical, anthropological, linguistic, almanacs, etc etc.)
Grew up… realized some of the things I missed out on. Didn’t sleep on The Well World Series by Chalker though…lol
Dune was my go to scifi…now it’s popular and I feel like a hipster.
My dad got me into hard scifi, d&d, Tolkien…if I feel like a hipster, can’t imagine what he feels like.
Big Pharma setting up for the next big cash cow of preventable things that will expand some stock market pocket books…
