ZorinOS, better than standard Ubuntu and more modern looking than Mint.
If u want to go Arch > Garuda or Cachy. Endeavour if u are one of the “its bloat” whishy washy purists.

Most of the time I have the opposite. I dread going out, and hope that the plans get canceled. But when I’m there I really do enjoy it, and I’m glad I didn’t pussy out.
Gotta love how devs and engineers are supposed to be on the front lines of innovation and progression. But most of the it’s just moaning and calling the next gen dumb. 15 years ago the current devs would be called dumb for using Frameworks amd how it’s cheating since it’s not self written. Do your part and educate and guide the next gen instead of complaining about tech evolving and being used.
So now suddenly us lemmy linux tech nerds forgot about mass…🙄.
Unless that isn’t possible to run, then correct me pls
YouTube Cineby.app HiAnime. Better not misspell Hianime lol ;)
Their business model is data harvesting. So more users is just a win. Still better than paying them
ZorinOS. Looks modern, works 96% of the time.

The reasonable voice in me tells to get my license and a second hand bike for max 3k ish. The unreasonable voice wants a new Triumph Scrambler 400x or a Suzuki Gsx 8s. Scrambler new is 7.5, almost no used models in my country. Gsx 8s can be found used around 8k.
One is a way safer fun 400 cc bike. The other quite bit quicker. Both financial disasters tho lol. Will probably end up on a older bike with less tech.
No not a lot. Was just distro hopping and tried bazzite. When I tried to install something that wans’t in the software centrum it indeed said to try sudo rpm-ostree install. But monkey brain already found it too much. So yeah… My bazzite views probaly aren’t the best lol. Have to give it a better try some day.
True true, still modern linux doesn’t break as easily as u frame it. And is user friendly enough for even non tech ppl. A user would have to go out of their way todo something weird in cli. As long as they are just installing games then not a whole lot can go wrong.
On bazzite if u want to install something that isn’t virtualized like flats, than u would have to dive more into cli. That instead of simply typing sudo apt install.
I like bazzite but the immutable aspect makes downloading some thing even more complicated for a newb. Truly can never go wrong with zorinos or mint
Let it simmer. If I still want to buy it after weeks/months than I buy it.
And here is me starting for a motor license in a few weeks.
My use case isn’t very high way oriented so hopefully i’ll stay whole…
Good tips all around tho :)
Cachy has the Garuda mindset. Make Arch user friendly. I run it on a thinkpad and haven’t had any issues. It also has snapshots enabled like garuda, so if anything does break then rolling back is easy peasy. Great distro to try out!
