Id like something that lets me wear my phone far away enough from my face but still enclosed so ot becomes like a mini movie theatre thats dark and everything

    You can get cheap phone vr headsets a google daydream or Samsung gear. Any would let you watch videos in vr, i think YouTube will still play 3d natively.

      YouTube is a little bitch with 3D. A workaround to YT removing the dedicated VR button is to build a playlist with one (preferably short) 180° or 360° video, followed by all the ones you want to watch. Must in this order:

      • disable autorotate
      • manually full-screen
      • activate 3D mode
      • place phone in headset
      • bonus: get comfortable, and get the video in the correct position by pressing the interactive button. If it’s askew you need to look away and press to move it, then rest and press again.
