If Aliens came to Earth, would we not have as much of a language chellenge as they would do with us? Also like in Mars Attacks how would we know that we aren't saying lets go to War?

if an alien race interstellar/intergaltic, wanted war, they communicate by starting blasting/orbital bombardment from space as a demonstration.
