"Speaking to reporters before getting onto his helicopter to go to the Nato summit in The Hague, Trump said he was unhappy with both Israel and Iran for breaking the ceasefire agreement he brokered.

Reserving his harshest criticism for Israel, he said: "Israel, as soon as we made the deal, they came out and dropped a load of bombs the likes of which I’ve never seen before, the biggest load we’ve seen.

“I’m not happy with Israel. When I say ‘OK now you have 12 hours’, you don’t go out in the first hour and drop everything you have on them. So I’m not happy with them. I’m not happy with Iran either.”"

When I say ‘OK now you have 12 hours’, you don’t go out in the first hour and drop everything you have on them.

What did he expect? They had 12 hours left to bomb the shit out of Iran before the cease fire applied to them. Of course they were going to bomb Iran, and naturally Iran would retaliate. Why didn’t the cease fire apply to everyone at the same time?

I think its an outdated concept to allow time for communication to reach all forces? Doesn’t really work in the modern world.

Troops in the field don’t have cell phones and wifi, they have radios at best. A sat phone if they’re really important.

Yeah the individuals probably still have personal devices (even though they’re not supposed to) but they don’t keep a phone tree, and it’s unlikely they have service in a war zone.

We’re not talking about people in fields with spears. These hypersonic missile facilities and fighter jets have plenty of communication channels with the top brass.
