I’ve played the first one. Is this much of an improvement? I know the visuals are completely different.

It was fun enough to play through early into EA; though once I started to scale up for a MAM, the performance became untenable… Though, that’s what you get for EA I guess.
I bought this and played a little bit this morning. I didn’t get to play long, but I love watching the machines work and figuring out the manufacturing is really fun!
